    Hi Erin!
I just tweeted you and I tried to connect through the Google for Education Directory but it didn’t seem like it was going through so I thought I’d leave a comment here as well in the hopes of connecting.
I’m a middle school Spanish teacher in Columbus, Ohio but I’m taking a sabbatical for the 2016-17 school year to travel and see as many different education systems as possible to observe best practices. I also would love to be connected with teachers during my travels to observe their classes and, potentially, to help connect them with teachers in the US. The goals would be to develop cultural sensitivity and global competence in our students, plus it would provide a great opportunity for the Japanese students to practice their English and be exposed to the culture. 🙂 I will be in Kyoto in early September for about 4-5 days–do you know of any schools or teachers who might be interested and would allow me to visit and observe some classes/discuss my idea to connect them for digital pen pals, video chats, etc. while I’m there? Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide!
    Becky Searls
